It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lila Gwen Ebarb Venable Ozkän Jones of Whitehouse, Texas, who passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Don, Do?an and Clyde Miller Jones; her brother Billy Ebarb; her sister-in-law Barbara Ann Ebarb; and her stepson Ken Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Neal Venable (Lori), Gay Venable-Brookshire (Kirk), Eric Özkan (Yvonne), Joy Özkan-Elian (Gil) and Amy Özkan; her grandchildren, Carla Jo Nix (Matt), Don Venable (Lauren), Ashley Brookshire Borelli (Cristiano), Layn? Haughee (Jerimiah), Avery Brookshire, Maya Özkan Watts (Jade), Gwynne Özkan, Eden Özkan, Elie Elian Woods (Tyler), Themis Elian (Rami Chariag), Sofia Elian and Grace Elian; her great grandchildren, Sawyer Nix, Layla Nix, Violetta Borelli, Giovanna Borelli, Hawkins Haughee, Hudson Haughee, Harlow Haughee and Luke Venable; her brother Curtis Lynn Ebarb; her sibling's children, Tommy Ebarb (Carol), Tracy Ebarb (Jacquie), Roland Ebarb (Donna) and D'Anne Ebarb; her stepchildren, Jeff Jones (Cathy) and Emily Jones; her grandson Tristan Özkan; and her grandsons-in-law, Matt Nix, Cristiano Borelli and Jerimiah Haughee. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and 4 grandcats.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Shiloh Road Church of Christ (1801 Shiloh Rd, Tyler, TX 75703). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the White Rose Cemetery. Lila loved Jesus and was a long time, member of Shiloh Road Church of Christ and was active in a number of ministries there until her health and then COVID, prevented her from attending, but she continued to attend "online" with the help of her daughter, Amy.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to Shiloh Road Church of Christ, Christian Homes and Family Services, Christian Women's Job Corps of Tyler, Habitat For Humanity of East Texas, or Hospice of East Texas.
