He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jefferson Reed, Sr. and Jodie Lucille Baumiester (Byrd); and his siblings, Bobby Dale Givens and Hazel Givens. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Reed of Nacogdoches; his son J. R.; his daughter-in-law Andrea Reed of Nacogdoches; his daughter Angela; his son-in-law Lyon Brown of Nacogdoches; his grandchildren, Marissa Perez of Nacogdoches, Taylor Reed of Tyler, Kelsey Reed of Nacogdoches, Whitley Reed of Nacogdoches, Ashton Brown of Nacogdoches, Shyane Brown of Nacogdoches, Lani Brown of Nacogdoches and Alexis Brown of Nacogdoches; his great grandchildren, Alister Perez of Nacogdoches and Julius Stevenson of Nacogdoches; and his siblings, Brenda Keeton of Shertz and Maurice Byrd of Longview. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shafer Funeral Home (600 N John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904-0353). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the International Church of Nacogdoches (1610 SW Stallings Dr, Nacogdoches, TX 75964). A burial will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at the Alazan Cemetery.
