She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross R. Elliott and Flossie Deen Elliott; and her husband Marshall Edward Shurbet. She is survived by: her daughters, Marsha Alston (Jim) of Mount Vernon and Cathy O'Rand of Mount Pleasant, Texas; her grandchildren, Bryan Alston (Brooke) of Duncan, Chris Cooper (Brandice) of Mount Pleasant, Philip Alston (Brooke) of Mount Pleasant, Michelle Shumate (Tyler) of Mount Pleasant and Sam Alston (Karlee) of Palestine, Texas; her great grandchildren, Madi, Farrah, Collyn Cooper of Mount Pleasant, Hadley, Camberley, Lynleigh Alston, Lauren, Layton Kriss of Duncan, Lucy, Marshall Alston of Mount Pleasant, Colt, Tucker Shumate of Mount Pleasant and Baby Boy Alston of Palestine, Texas; her sisters, Joan Beck of Chandler and Barbara Campbell of Mount Vernon, Texas; and her pet Hurley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Bates-Cooper Sloan Funeral Home (2805 S Jefferson Ave, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455).
