It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Reynolds Whitton of Montgomery, Texas, who passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bowie Andrew Reynolds and Rachel Florene Nichols; her husband Robert Jarrell Whitton; her sons, Donald Eugene Graham and Jimmy Lynn Graham; her great grandchild Stacy Choate; and her brothers, Michael Wayne Reynolds, Merl Newton Reynolds, David Carl Reynolds and Jerry Lynn Reynolds.
She is survived by: her children, Tammy Alyne Whitton Smart of Montgomery and Gary Wayne Whitton (Sara) of Scurry; her siblings, Geraldine Barr (Rayburn) of Zachary, LA, Maxine Whitton of Sunnyvale, TX and Verlin Gene Reynolds (Cindy) of Mesquite; and her great great grandchild Oscar Marshall Densley. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel (113 W Holly St, Woodville, TX 75979). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 at the Hall Cemetery.
