With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vickie (Grimes) Hensarling of Lufkin, Texas, who passed away on September 5, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Vickie departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Vickie may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Vickie leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Ray Grimes and Robbie Mae Grimes (Jones); her husband David Hensarling; and her siblings, William Grimes and Karen Glista.
She is survived by: her daughter Jennifer; her son-in-law Travis Kelley of Lufkin; her daughter Heather Hensarling of Lufkin; her granddaughter Brianna (Aaron Patterson) of Lufkin; her great grandchild Jaci Lynn Patterson of Lufkin; and her nephew Tyler Grimes of Lufkin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shafer Funeral Home (600 N John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904-0353). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Crain Cemetery (1301 Rhodes St, Huntington, TX 75949).
