He is survived by: his children, James Russell Payne (Nancy) of Diana, Texas and Lisa Lynne Payne of Kanab, Utah; his granddaughters, Lindsay Hlebowicz (Daniel) of Montgomery, Texas, Whitney Higginbotham (Kerry) of Diana, Texas and Ashley Payne Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Kadence and Karson Higginbotham of Diana, Texas..
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Horn Family Funeral Home Chapel (400 Webb St, Daingerfield, TX 75638). A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at the Memphis Memory Gardens (6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Memphis, TN 38134).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made St Jude Children's Hospital or Grace Creek Church in Longview, Texas.
