He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Boyd and Nona Virginia Boyd (Meador); and his siblings, Willa Jean Rogers, Kenneth Boyd and Nolan Wayne Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, Reneé Luce (Alex) of New Braunfels and Leslie Ann Copeland (Rob) of Tyler; his siblings, Wilma Dean Smith, Nona Faye Kimery of Athens and Butch Boyd (Lila) of Athens; his grandchildren, John Stripling (Jaclyn), Elizabeth Sabo (Bill), Blaine Porter, Breana Emler, Kellie Luce and Adrian; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Hodge Stripling, Henry Harper Stripling, Lucas Harrison Stripling, Sophia Grace Stripling, Chance Andrew Paxton, Aubrey Elizabeth Sabo, Lana Olivia Sabo, Weston Porter, Maverick Porter and Kahlen Porter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel (842 NE Loop 7, Athens, TX 75752). A burial will be held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at the Rome Cemetery.
