Maryjane C. Hatch, age 81, of Norwalk, beloved wife of Chester C. Hatch for 56 years, passed away peacefully at her home on April 18.
Born on February 13, 1945, in Middletown, New York, Maryjane was the daughter of the late Benjamin O. and Emily (Jubb) Corwin. She made her home in Norwalk since 1969, where she built a life centered around family, community, and service to others.
Maryjane worked as an X-ray technician for the former Norwalk Medical Group on East Avenue, where she was known for her compassion and care. She was an active and dedicated member of the United Congregational Church, as well as the Women's Board of The Norwalk Hospital, which runs Treasure Houseāan organization that was especially meaningful to her. Giving back to others was not just something she believed in, but something she lived every day.
In addition to her loving husband, Chet, she is survived by her son, Benjamin C. Hatch (Christine); her daughter, Susan J. Hatch (Jodi); her sister, Carol Neidhart (Craig); her cherished granddaughter, Kimberly J. Hatch; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers (Jim and Ben) and one sister (Pat).
Family and friends are invited to call on the family at United Congregational Church, 275 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, on Friday April 24, 2026, at 10:30am, with a service to celebrate Maryjane's life to follow at 12:00 noon.
Private entombment will take place in her "little house" on Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan.
