He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Porter and Frances Porter (Southworth); and his brothers, Ralph and Robert Porter. He is survived by : his wife Laura Porter (Shail); his children, John Porter (Karen) of Brewster, MA, Marjorie Porter (Dom) of Pomfret, CT, Keith Porter (Lisa) of Wallingford, CT and Elizabeth Craig (Roy) of Suffield, CT; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Gregory, Joshua, Brytnie and Daniel. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Biega's Funeral Home (3 Silver St, Middletown, CT 06457). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the United Congregational Church of Haddam (905 Saybrook Rd, Haddam, CT 06438).
Those who wish may send memorial contributions to a scholarship fund which will be set up in Gene's name or the United Congregational Church of Haddam.
