He was predeceased by : his parents, Attorney Cyril F. Gaffney and Helen Gaffney (Downes). He is survived by : his wife Mary Ellen Gaffney (McAuliffe); his brother Attorney J. Brian Gaffney; and his children, Sue Ellen Poyton (Robert) of Bristol, Kathryn Lancia (Joseph) of Greenville, Sharon Walsh (Thomas) of Leonardtown and Attorney Bernard Gaffney (Maureen) of Simsbury. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home (110 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051). A mass of christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 25th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Maurice Church (100 Wightman Rd, New Britain, CT 06052). A burial will be held on Thursday, January 25th 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery (1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06051).
