It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Makowicz of Hebron, Connecticut, born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Makowicz and Apolonia Makowicz (Kogut); his wife Isabelle Podosek; and his children, Michael and Susan.
He is survived by : his children, David Makowicz (Heather), Paul Makowicz (Leighsa) and Linda Adams (Jonathan); and his sisters, Helen Bubien, Alice Saczawa and Frances Bednarczyk. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home (551 Talcottville Rd, Vernon, CT 06066). A mass of christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (33 West St, Vernon, CT 06066). A burial will be held on Thursday, January 25th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Bernard Cemetery.
