William Spielman

William N. "Bill" Spielman Sr., a lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. He was 69 years old.
Born on April 29, 1956, Bill was the son of the late Lois Mola Spielman and Robert Spielman. He was a proud Norwalker through and through, known for his sense of humor and big heart.
Bill served the city as a member of the Norwalk Fire Department, but his true passion was carrying on the legacy of the construction and property management company founded by his father over 75 years ago — a business now proudly run by his sons.
Above all, Bill was a family man. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Mary Fitzgerald Spielman, and their children: William Jr., Sean, Meghan, and Katelyn. He was predeceased by his youngest son, Eric, whose memory remained ever present in his heart.
His greatest joy in life was being "Grampy" to his grandchildren — Elle, Camden, Nola, Taya, Dylan, and Lyla — who were truly the light of his life. Whether cheering from the sidelines at their games or spending time together on Mola Road, Bill loved being with family.
He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Bette) Spielman, along with his huge extended family, and many lifelong friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Bill's honor on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11am at St.Thomas the Apostle Church, Norwalk.
