He was predeceased by: his parents, Carman Cater and Christine Boland Cater (Elsa Cater). He is survived by: his wife Andrea Cater (Dlugokecki); his daughters, Tanya Aldi (John) of Irmo, SC and Kiersten Wood (Matthew) of Naugatuck, CT; his grandchildren, Jacob Aldi (Lyssa Malota) of Bristol, CT, Jared Aldi (Davianna) of Terryville, CT, Jonah Aldi of Irmo, SC, Raine Wood of Providence, RI and Kloe Wood of Naugatuck, CT.; his brother Philip Cater (LouAnn Baylock) of Sarasota, FL; his sibling's children, Christopher Cater, Carman Cater, Jorgen Pedersen and Bridget Cook; and his pet Toby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home (82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck, CT 06770). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Church (318 Church St, Naugatuck, CT 06770).
