He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Slater and Blanche Slater (Goodwin); his former wife Bette Tuttle Slater; his wife Marguerite Blais Slater; and his sister Patricia Anziano.
He is survived by: his sons, Terry Slater (Laurie) of Guilford and Scott Slater (Julie) of Iowa; and his brother Richard Slater (Donna) of Wallingford. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
