She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Thomas and Senetta May (Blackman); her sister Mary May Irvin; her brother-in-law Clenone Irvin (Clem); her brothers, James Nobles, Joe Maye and Russell May; and her son Torrey Leon Cogdell.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Williams; her children, Rosetta Richardson of Hamden, CT, Cynthia Lowery (William) of Hamden, CT and Kelvin Cogdell of Boston, MA; her siblings, Shirley Ann House of Greenville, NC and Johnny Ray Nobles of Lebanon, MO; and her goddaughters, Tekia Thomas (Tiron) of Bridgeport, CT and Shauntae Barzey (Ronald) of Stamford, CT. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of God of Prophecy (155 Grand Ave, New Haven, CT 06513). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at the Hamden Plains Cemetery (New Haven, CT 06514).
