It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Slesinski of Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Mary Ellen farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary Ellen is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Donaghue and Signe Donaghue (Thorstensen); her husband Henry Slesinski; and her daughter Ruth S. Lenihan. She is survived by: her son-in-law Edmund F. Lenihan. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Brooklawn Funeral Home (511 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Seton Church (280 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephine Bakhita Parish or to the Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, 55 East Cedar Street, Newington, CT 06111.
