With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of JoAnn Dunford of Shelton, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 16, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert E. Dunford; her mother Glenn Walters; her daughter Karen Reilly (John); her siblings, Nancy Briggs (Don) and John Walters (Carol); and her brother-in-law Richard Dunford.
She is survived by: her son Robert J. Dunford (Ruth Ann); her grandsons, Robert P. Dunford (Carly), James Dunford (Leanne) and Brian Reilly (Catherine); her great grandchildren, Ella, Jack, Miles, James, Henry and Dominic Dunford; her sister Glenda Allen; and her siblings-in-law, Patricia Dunford of Erie, PA and Dennis Dunford of Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Riverview Funeral Home (390 River Rd, Shelton, CT 06484). A procession will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Church (505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, CT 06484).
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph High School in Honor of the Karen D. Reilly Scholarship Fund.
