Giovanni Casale

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Giovanni "John" Casale, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished Nonno, who departed this life surrounded by love on July 14, 2025.
Born in Lauro, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Caterina Casale, he was predeceased by his brothers Andrea and Ugo Casale, survived by his sisters Giovanna and Ida Casale, and many nephews and nieces in Europe.
For 50 remarkable years, Giovanni shared a life filled with laughter, growth, and unwavering partnership with his Wife, Giuseppina. Together they built a loving home and founded Casale Auto Body Shop which he ran for 31 years.
He was the proud father of three daughters: Catherine Gallup, Jessica Casale, and Joanna Nelson, each of whom carries his wisdom, kindness, and sense of humor in their hearts. His love knew no bounds, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his five granddaughters: Gabriella Frabrizio, Olivia Frabrizio, Angelina Frabrizio, Liliana Gallup and Sadie Nelson whose lives he enriched with Italian culture, gifts, and love. And he loved playing Scala and watching Formula One races with his sons-in-law Chris Gallup and Jeff Nelson.
Giovanni was a member of the Minturnese Social Club in Stamford, CT. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the family he cherished, and the countless moments that now become precious memories.
He leaves behind so many people he loved, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
There will be a wake for Giovanni at Magner Funeral Home 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk, CT on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5 to 8pm and a private funeral for his immediate family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association (https://www.lung.org) in his honor.
