William E. "Bill" Bullard, 74, husband of Margaret "Peggy" Small Bullard for 39 devoted years, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at his home in Danbury. Born on November 8, 1950, in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Werner) Bullard.
Bill worked in printing for over 50 years as an offset pressman – highly respected at his craft and a colleague whose friendships ran as deep as family. At and outside of his job, he had a gift for working things out—carefully, patiently, and with the type of detail you knew you could count on. From solving mechanical puzzles to offering steadfast support in life's challenges, he was everyone's quiet constant.
He was happiest in life with a few simple things: friends, family and fishing. He lived by his love for his family and the friends he treated as such. A perfect weekend for Bill often meant time outside "tinkering" in the garage, mornings at the launching ramp over his two XL regular coffees, and endless hours with family, even better if it included his granddog "Captain," curled up as close as possible. And in the spring and summers, a week wasn't complete if he hadn't gone fishing with his best friend.
In addition to his wife, Peggy, Bill is survived by their children Melissa (Jerry) Mocarski, Bill Bullard, Stephanie Callahan, and Nicole (Adam) Kaye, as well as his grandson Joshua (Alexandra) Mocarski.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, from 12-2PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, with Funeral services beginning at 2PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org) are appreciated.
