Catherine "Kitty" LaVista, 92, of Norwalk, wife of the late Anthony L. LaVista, died on June 13, 2026 at Avon Health Center. Born in New York, the daughter of the late Christopher and Mamie (Cioffoletti) Fiorito, she was also predeceased by her brothers Frank Fiorito and Chris Fiorito, as well as her son Anthony C. LaVista.
Kitty worked as a seamstress at Draperies Incorporated where she worked for 30 years. She enjoyed bowling, music, NY Yankees and UCONN Huskies.
Many thanks to the staff at McClean Hospice and Avon Health. A special thanks to Oksana Voronchak and Kinga Skawinski who spoiled Kitty caring for her every day for the past year. To everyone at in the amazing Middlewoods of Farmington, Assisted Living facility who blessed Kitty and made every minute special with different activities, trips, and so much love and caring in her home, we are forever grateful for every minute together.
Kitty is survived by her daughter Debra Abromaitis and her husband James, grandsons, Jason and his wife Ann, and their children, Jack. Ellie and Tyler, and Timothy and his wife Sara and their daughter Via, daughter-in-law Joanne LaVista and her daughter Allie and Greg Ferrara and their daughter Charlotte, and sister-in-law Rosemarie Fiorito and her son John his wife Kate and their children John Frank and Rocco.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 20, at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Rd., Fairfield.
