With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Preiss of Westbury, New York, born in Middle Village, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 5, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Kevin Preiss. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Preiss; his children, Kathleen (Richard Collins), Joanne (Richard Gumbrecht), John (Bernadette Preiss) and Thomas (Juliann Preiss); his daughter-in-law Juana Preiss; his grandchildren, Steve Gumbrecht (Rachel Miller), Jenny Alessi (Paul Alessi), Veronica Preiss, Lauren Collins, Caitlin Collins, Thomas Preiss, Miles Preiss, Nicholas Preiss, Natalie Preiss, John Preiss III, TJ Preiss and Riley Preiss; and his great grandchildren, Clara and Peter Alessi. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Donohue Cecere Funeral Directors (290 Post Ave, Westbury, NY 11590). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the St. Brigid's R. C. Church (50 Post Ave, Westbury, NY 11590).
