It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy F. Sapato of Moline, Illinois, who passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorothy F. Sapato to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Fern and Dorothy Marie Corns Arnold; her husband Arcie Sapato; her siblings, Blaine Arnold (Judy) and Madeline Ford; and her daughter Cheryl Schmidt.
She is survived by: her son Stephen Sapato (Kristen); her son-in-law Gerald Schmidt; her grandchildren, Shelley Altenbaumer (Brian), Heather Schmidt, Erin Severs (Dan), Zachary Sapato and Denny Mekus (Molly); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Jared Altenbaumer, Darin Severs, Max and Mia Mekus. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory (6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL 61265). A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
