As Carol departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Johnson and Helen Johnson (Mills); and her husband Fred M. Lear. She is survived by: her children, Chris Lear (Lyn) and Lori Landbo (Tom Baker); her grandchildren, Sydney Lear and Ethan Lear; and her siblings, David Johnson and Ginny Behnken (Fred). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (1600 20th St, Rock Island, IL 61201). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be left in care of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rock Island, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or Augustana College Music Department, Rock Island.
