He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Verstraete and Elizabeth "Bette" Verstraete (Zarada); his brother Bob; and his niece Kerri. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Rapp; his children, Amy Verstraete and Andrew Verstraete (Kim); his grandson Tyler Verstraete of Prescott, AZ; his son Nolan (Lexi Shaffer); his siblings, Barb Schwartz (Paul) and Bill Verstraete (Linda) of Mesa, AZ; and his sister-in-law Darlene Verstraete of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rafferty Funeral Home (2111 1st Street A a, Moline, IL 61265, USA). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Moline High School Wrestling Team, or Hospice Compassus in Moline.
