He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Benson and June Benson (Fellows); his former wife Sue Brandt; his son Rick Benson; his grandson David Gibbs; and his sister Penny Villegas.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Kelly; his children, Shellie Darr (Todd), Troy Linville (Karen), Cindi Johnson, Scott Benson (Chris) and Michael Benson (Sophie); and his grandchildren, Shaylee Cole (Eric), Maegan Rutledge (Lael), Justin Linville (Dora), Haley Collins, Austin Collins, Sarah Benson, Ashley Benson and Damon Benson. He is also survived by 1 grandson on the way and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Greenview Memorial Gardens (1201 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL 61244).
