He was predeceased by: his mother Dora Milke; his foster parents, Milton Maack and Cornelia Maack; and his grandchildren, Troy Howard, Maurice Maack and Mayci Maack.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lynn; and his children, Kristin Howard (Darryl), Kelly Maack and Thomas Maack Jr. (Kami). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
