With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty Paulsen of Rock Island, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty left this world on August 14, 2025 at the age of 100, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Romine and Opie Romine (Campbell); her husband Keith Orville Carlson; her daughter Carol Williams; her sons-in-law, William "Bill" Boyle and Richard Williams; and her siblings, Ruth Ehlers, Rita Nevins, Nancy Betty, Raymond Romine and Alice Rosenthal.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Boyle, Frederic "Fred" Carlson (Julie) and Teresa Nurre (Steven); her sister Sharon Woods; and her close friend Becky Olson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (2502 29th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
