With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Lee Riedlinger of Farmington, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 27, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Riedlinger and Kathryn Riedlinger (White); his wife Jean Ewers; his siblings, Vernon, Marilyn and Warren; his son-in-law Steve Wilcoxson; and his grandson Brian Forbes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Geraldine Riedlinger, Jr. (Marlene) of Bartonville, Ruth Kester (Robert) of Rock Island, Cathy Wilcoxson of Hanna City, Debra Mullvain (Michael) of Bartonville and Janet Gordon (Elliott "Scott") of Bartonville; and his grandchildren, Erik Phillips (Jennifer), Jennie Waldo (Nate), Valerie Bennett (Tim), Nick Kester (Michelle), Scott Mullvain, Ben Kester (Tiffany), Ellery Merrick (Christian), Raven Farraher Gordon, Elliott Gordon (Eliza), Eric Neal (Teresa), Jason Neal (Becky) and John Phillips. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lutheran Cemetery (914 S Pleasant St, Peoria, IL 61604).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bartonville Fire Department.
