He was predeceased by : his parents, William Charles and Josephine Hanfelder (Gascho); his wife Judy Tuttle; his grandson William Johnson; and his siblings, Kenneth Hanfelder, Arthur Hanfelder, Robert Hanfelder, Charles "Chuck" Hanfelder, Helen Perry, Doris Stille, Margaret Hinkle, Alice Schuessler and Kathryn Smith.
He is survived by : his daughters, Michele (Dennis Johnson), Melissa (Richard Hosto) and Manda Jackson of Bethalto; his grandchildren, Dennis Johnson, Jr., Josephine Johnson, Adam Hosto, Allie Hosto, Nathan Rector and Noah Hanfelder; and his sisters, Rita Sutton of South Roxana, Gladys Abernathy of East Alton and Phyllis (Dale Noble). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 29th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Pitchford Funeral Home (2555 Vaughn Rd, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 29th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to Fresenius Dialysis Center, 7 Professional Drive, Alton, Illinois, 62002 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
