He was predeceased by : his siblings, Art Salazar, Al Salazar and Alicia Saldivar; and his parents, Francisco Salazar and Leonor Salazar.
He is survived by : his spouse Rosario M. Salazar; his children, John Salazar (Lydia), Denise Walther (Chuck), Kathleen Salazar, Jeannette Braxdale (Jeff) and Armando Salazar; his grandchildren, Michael Salazar, Victoria Salazar, Lauren Walther, Jessie Walther and Sydney Walther (Noelle); and his brother Frank Salazar (Elia).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Smits Funeral Home (3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL 60475). A Mass will be held on Monday, March 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St Liborius Church (71 W 35th St, Steger, IL 60475). A burial will be held on Monday, March 25th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
