He was predeceased by: his parents, Stamatis Stamatis and Chryse Stamatis; his siblings, Themis Stamus and Garifalia Stamatis; and his nephew John Stamus.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Stamatis; his children, Spiro Barlas (Margaret), Chrysi Waidner (Randy) and Tom Stamatis (Kristi); his grandchildren, Philip Garza, Nathan Garza, Maria Barlas, Alexandra Barlas-Baschnagel (Brandon), Sophia Barlas, Anastasia Stamatis and Thomas Stamatis; his great grandchild Stavroula Baschnagel; his siblings, Angela Stroulia and Yota Shinas; his siblings-in-law, Niko Kotinopoulos and Rena Mokka; and his nieces and nephews, Achilles Shinas, Effie Shinas, Chrissi Stroulia, Elina Stroulia, Elias Stroulia and Paul Stamus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home of Niles (8025 W Golf Rd, Niles, IL 60714). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church (133 S Roselle Rd, Palatine, IL 60067). A burial will be held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Arlington Cemetery (401 E Lake St, Elmhurst, IL 60126).
