With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Lea Cordes of Maroa, Illinois, who passed away on November 20, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer A. "Joe" Tanner and Madeline Tanner; her grandparents, John, Attillia DePaul, Thomas and Giselle Tanner; and her brother-in-law Bob Manegold.
She is survived by: her husband Dennis L Cordes; her children, Mickel Cordes of Carbondale, IL, Lorne Cordes (Dawn) of Chatsworth, IL and Justine Duke (Sonny) of Wilmington, IL; her grandchildren, Ashlee Black (Justin), Adam Cordes (Danielle), Amber Cordes, Alyssa Cordes, Stephanie Russell and Matthew Russell; her great grandchildren, Lane Cordes, Jaxson, Roselynn and Reston Black; her siblings, Audrey Manegold of Braceville and John Tanner of Braidwood; her niece Amie Shaputis (Jason); and her nephew Joseph Tanner (Aliesha).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the R. W. Patterson Funeral Home (401 E Main St, Braidwood, IL 60408). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
