He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nelson and Doris Nelson; and his brother Wesley Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Nelson; his children, Jan Peterson (Brian), Greg Nelson (Lisa) and Pam Kavanagh (John); his grandchildren, Emily Rose Nelson (Mikey Maude), Dylan Nelson, Braeden Nelson, Delaney Nelson, Abigail Jones (Seth), Malin Peterson, Teagen Kavanagh and Kye Kavanagh; his great grandchildren, Landon, Mateo and Ella Nelson-Maude; and his brother Stuart Nelson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Northwest Covenant Church (300 N Elmhurst Ave, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
