She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank "Boon" Gates and Anna Foster Gates; her husband Charles Prater; her siblings, John L. Gates, Anna M. White and Lenora Ehret; and her in-laws, Gladys, Eldon Reeves, Betty, Jim Ripley, Velma, Bob Weir, Vergie Gates, Lucille, Andy Anderson, Vernon, Marie Prater, Bob Prater Glenn Prater and Dennis Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Bowman (Tim) of Pleasant Hill, Alberta Pryor (Kenny) of Maywood, MO and Chuck Prater (Shelly) of Pleasant Hill; her grandchildren, Johnny Minor of Pleasant Hill, Lisa Bowman of Pittsfield, Casey Bowman (Shelby) of Taylor, MO, Kimberly Sargent (Greg) of Pittsfield, Tony Pryor (Lindsey) of Maywood, MO, Michael (Heather) of Wyaconda, MO, Robert Pryor (Valerie) of Canton, MO and Erin Wharton (Eric) of Quincy; her great grandchildren, Dayton, Franky, Nataliegh, Cylas, Ada Lyn, Shaylon, Alex, Carter, Braylee, Bryar, Alliannah, Maddie, Michael, Stella, Ava, Evan and Avery; her great great grandchild Cohen; and her in-laws, Allen Prater (Bonnie), Mary Ann Shireman (Don), Doris Johnson, Judy Black (Dale) and Haroldine Prater. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Lummis Funeral Home (502 S Main St, Pleasant Hill, IL 62366). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Crescent Heights Cemetery Association.
