He was predeceased by: his parents, Benedict and Elizabeth; and his sister Rosemarie Hidalgo (late Michael). He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Elizabeth Roman and David; his siblings, Dale, Betty, Mary and Michelle; and his grandchild Ryan Hellmann Cassy Hellmann.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Maher Funeral Home (17101 71st Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60477). The military honors will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in David's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Macular Degeneration research, or Breast Cancer research appreciated.
