He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah E. Tabbert and Beryl C. Tabbert (Huffmaster); his wife Betty Miller; his siblings, Otha Tabbert (Thelma), Noah Junior Tabbert, Max D. Tabbert (Nina), Maurice Tabbert (Amelia), Margaret Tabbert, Ellinere Tabbert, Gail Rincker (Dale) and Wanda Lee Tabbert; and his in-laws, Kenneth Perry, Janice, Duane Poehler, Howard Poehler, Ronnie Miller, Floyd Miller and Dan Hites.
He is survived by: his children, Darren Tabbert (Jackie) of Effingham and Valerie Wright (Brian) of Florence, Kentucky; his grandsons, Kendall Tabbert and Kolten Tabbert of Effingham; his sister Alma Perry of Mattoon, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Myrna Hites of Edgewood, Glenda Poehler of Ingraham and Ruth Ann Miller of Altamont. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to a veterans organization of the donor's choice.
