He was predeceased by: his children, Dave Szczekocki and Diana Schardan; his grandson Billy Schardan; his siblings, Harriet Raich (late Jack) and Adored; and his parents, Walter Szczekocki and Stefania Szczekocki.
He is survived by: his wife Leona; his daughter Margaret Buckle (Paul); his granddaughter Gabriella Roman; and his brother Stanley Szczekocki (late Irene). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Oaks Funeral Home (1201 Irving Park Rd, Itasca, IL 60143). A Mass will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Church (254 N Wood Dale Rd, Wood Dale, IL 60191). A burial will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Maryhill Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
