He was predeceased by: his parents, Jon Placek and Stella Placek (Tajak); his wife Patricia E. Placek; and his brother Raymond Placek. He is survived by: his children, Cyndee Jackowski (late Dale) and Rob Placek (Margaret); his grandchildren, Kristy Merrill (Mike), Brad Jackowski, Kelly Atkinson (Sean), Jennifer Malave (Chris) and Eric Placek; and his great grandchildren, Cole, Eleigh, Avery, Finley, Penelope and Cayden.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cumberland Chapels (8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Beatrice Church (4157 Atlantic Ave, Schiller Park, IL 60176).
