In the vast expanse of eternity, Dorothy shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Dorothy farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Bates; and her children, Sheila Bates, Alvin Bates and Dorothy Johnson (Jeff). She is survived by: her children, Mary Bonilla (Salomon), James Bates (Judy) and Jennifer Bates; and her sisters, Nancy and Betty.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory Sw Corner of Roosevelt (4001 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory (4001 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A burial will be held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM at the Arlington Cemetery (401 E Lake St, Elmhurst, IL 60126).
