He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Haack and Annabelle Haack (Haak); and his parents-in-law, Helen and Dennis Simmet. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Simmet; his siblings, Richard Haack (Debbie) and Barbara Buxton; his siblings-in-law, Mark Simmet (Jean) and Diane Schwartz (John); and his siblings' children, Christopher Buxton (Allison), Gregory Buxton, Jeremy Haack (Nicole), Donald Simmet, Ethan Schwartz (Anna Frenger), Adam Schwartz (Xia), Abby Hensler (Michael), Carlee Brooks (Scott) and Willa Simmet (Kay Guyer).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (2450 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI 53704). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (3054 County Hwy N, Cottage Grove, WI 53527). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care (5203 Monona Dr, Monona, WI 53716).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James School of Madison or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
