The passing of Ellen Sue Roche (Madison, Wisconsin) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on August 29, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy McEvilly and Shirley McEvilly. She is survived by: her son Jeff (Katy); her husband Bill; her siblings, Kathy Rounds (Bob), Mike McEvilly (Barb) and Dan McEvilly; her sisters-in-law, Patty Wood (Ron), Teresa Roche and Kim; her close friends, Becky, Nancy, Deb, Judy, Toni, Rhonda, Sally, Rhea, Nanner, Don, MacKenzy, Alex and Beth; her caregiver Diann; her siblings' children, Michael, Becky, Molly, Luke, Matt, Sara, Erin and James Wood; and her pet Reacher.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mount Zion Baptist Church (2019 Fisher St, Madison, WI 53713). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. Ellen prided herself on donating blood to the Red Cross, volunteering at the Veterans Hospital until the Covid epidemic excluded those opportunities, and after her stroke, she volunteered in the University Hospital Neurology unit with her sister, giving survivors of strokes and other brain diseases and injuries, hope for survival and empowerment of self.
