He was predeceased by: his parents, Vinton Petersen and Marjorie Petersen (Smith); his wives, Bernadine Dehne and Diane; his son Jeff Petersen; his grandsons, Trevor Stricklin and Joshua Petersen; his brother-in-law Dr. John Goswitz; and his stepson-in-law Robert Buxbaum.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Petersen (Michelle) and Lisa Stricklin; his stepchildren, Valerie Buxbaum and Darren Wheelock; his grandchildren, Tristan Petersen, Courtney Domine (Sam), Wendy Stricklin, Ashley Mrotek (Joe) and Heather Nixon (Robert); his great grandchildren, Gavan, Brayden, Sophia Mrotek, Jonah Domine and Brittany Nixon; and his siblings, Kay Goswitz, Ken Petersen (Mary), Keith Petersen (Brenda) and Chris Petersen (Patrice). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi (1121 N 14th St, Manitowoc, WI 54220). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Mike's name.
