Earl Peter Stanowsky

Earl Peter Stanowsky

(83 years old)

Earl P. Stanowsky, 83, of Menomonee Falls, WI, died suddenly of heart failure, on September 5, 2025.

He was born on February 2, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI, the only child of Earl J. and Bernice (nee Stieber) Stanowsky. He graduated from Concordia High School. He worked at Cardinal Stritch University in the Maintenance Department and then attended the Milwaukee Police Academy. Earl was a proud member of the Menomonee Falls Police Department, where he spent 28 years, many of them in the Detective Bureau. He was highly regarded as a leader, partner and friend by his peers. Lifelong friendships developed during his time on the police force. He retired as a Sergeant in 1995. Earl worked for a short time at the Tripoli Golf Course, and then began his second career as a salesman at NAPA Auto Parts. He worked there for almost 28 years, including the morning of the day he died.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Karen (nee Voit), children, Lori (Mark) Hoynacki, Lynda (Donald) Brantner, and son, Paul. He was a loving Pop to Katie (Chris) Kloepping, Mary (Ty) Harkness, Anne (Jason) Crawford, Tom Brantner, Ben and Abby Stanowsky. He was blessed to have five great-grandchildren, Molly, Emma and Teddy Kloepping, and Juliet and Ethan Crawford. Earl was also an honorary Pop to Christopher Norton, Brian Norton, and Katie (Norton) Goergen. Best friend of Neal (Chuckie) Buntrock. He is further survived by family and many friends.

Earl was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. He loved to play softball, golf, watch sports on television and deer hunt up north. In addition, he loved buying and selling cars, not only for himself, but for his children and grandchildren. While he was deeply rooted in Menomonee Falls, part of his heart also resided in St. Germain where he had numerous friends, especially his late friend and business partner, Steve Pulec. Earl considered those friends his "Northwoods" family. He will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 13th, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Menomonee Falls, from 9:00-11:45, with a service beginning at 12:00. Private burial at Valhalla Cemetery.
