It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Schmitz of Spooner, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 6, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Schmitz and Julia Schmitz (Neste). He is survived by: his children, Gretchen Buxton (Scott), Ingrid Ney (Corey) and Theodore Schmitz (Laura); his grandchildren, Henry, June, Elizabeth, Liam, Oliver, Samantha, Margaret, David and Phoebe; his brother James Schmitz (Arlene); and his wife Ellen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (409 N Summit St, Spooner, WI 54801). Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Warbirds North Airport (W7953 County Hwy E, Spooner, WI 54801). The military honors will be held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner, WI 54801).
