He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Nelson and Silvia Roen Nelson (Roen); and his stepmother Charlotte Silverthorn Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Gary Nelson (Carla) of Janesville, Joni Lloyd (Bill) of Janesville and Greg Nelson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.; his grandchildren, Ashlyn Smith, Joe Nelson, Melissa Wiedemeier, Zachary, Nathan Ballou, Eric and Julia Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Ivy, Nora Smith, Evan, Austin, Lauren Wiedemeier, Carter, Ava Ballou and Olivia Nelson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Orfordville Lutheran Church (210 N Main St, Orfordville, WI 53576). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Orfordville Lutheran Church, the Orfordville Fire Department, and Agrace Hospice—organizations that were close to Ron's heart.
