It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verlin George Johnson (Tomah, Wisconsin), who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley; his parents-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Kneifl; his father Emil (Caroline Johnson); his siblings-in-law, Marion McCollough, Raymond Walter, Richard McCollough and Beverly McCollough; his brothers, Stanley Johnson and Carlton Johnson; and his son-in-law Jeff Brett.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Rastall (Thomas), David Johnson (Amanda) and Sherrie Brett; his grandchildren, Shalyn Gagnon (Nick), Tia Strait (Joseph), Chad Johnson (Katey Fortun), Cory Johnson (April), Jamie Clark (Justin), Nathan Eisenhut (Brittney), Derek Eisenhut and Keely Hinkle (Logan); his great grandchildren, Madelyn Gagnon, Liliana Gagnon, Liam Gagnon, Alexis Strait, Mason Strait, Shaila Davis (James), Jack Kassanavoid, Jennie Kassanavoid, Leora Kassanavoid, Emily Drews, Noah Charles, Roree Charles, Jaide Charles, Dayton Eisenhut, Onyx Eisenhut, Freya Hinkle, Luna Hinkle and Arthur Hinkle; his sister-in-law Jean Walter; and his sister Charlene Benisch (Don). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Vernon Cemetery (23008 WI-16, Tomah, WI 54660). Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tomah American Legion Post #201 (800 Wisconsin Ave, Tomah, WI 54660).
