He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Horst and Elma Horst (Kornhaus); and his brothers, Chester K. Horst, LaVerne D. Horst, Albert and Melvin E. Horst.
He is survived by: his wife Geneva A. Smucker; his children, Daniel Horst (Deanna) of Winter Garden, FL, Robert Horst (Deborah) of Harrisonburg, VA, Nevin Horst (Tami) of Dalton and Deb Schaffter (Larry) of Sterling; his grandchildren, Allan (Casey), Tessa (Tim), David, Joseph (Jennifer), John (Katie), Donna (Brad), Tom (Molly), Brad, Nate, Tara (Marc) and Jason; and his brother Raymond L. Horst (Ruth Ann) of Columbiana. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, May 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church (300 S Walnut St, Orrville, OH 44667).
