She was predeceased by: her husband William Whims; her son Edward; her parents, Alonzo Houston and Nellie Houston (Moser); and her siblings, William, Burton, Lawrence, Juanita Houston, Georgia Hall and Erleene Houston.
She is survived by: her children, Katherine Farrar (Jerry), Donald Whims (Ruth), Martin Whims (Julia), Diane Stewart (Jeffery) and David Whims (Sharon). She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, USA). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
