With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas G. Burton (Gainesville, Florida), who passed away on June 11, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Burton and Mildred Burton. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Stevenson; his children, Debra Fitzgerald (Danny) and Steven Burton (Susan); his grandchildren, Michael Burton (Courtney), Emma Slocum (Adam), Aaron Fitzgerald (Lucy), Mary Giordano (Mike), David Burton, Jonathan Fitzgerald and Joseph Burton; and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Burton (late Robert), Wilbur Zike (late Jane), Jim Stevenson (Sandy) and Tom Stevenson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grace Church (9325 W Newberry Rd, Gainesville, FL 32606). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Forest Meadows Cemetery (4200 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606).
