With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Jean Karst (Callahan, Florida), who passed away on June 12, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Archie Karst; her parents, Troy Lee Waites and Vivian Foster Waites; and her brother Herbert L Karst. She is survived by: her daughters, Leanne Ludvigsen (Patrick) and Victoria Karst (Susan); her granddaughters, Lindsey Hardy (Nathan), Heather McBee (Bryan), Shelby Terrell (Clayton), Delaney Ludvigsen and Sydney Ludvigsen; her great grandchildren, Blake, Benjamin McBee, Liam and Ethan Hardy; and her siblings, Nancy Boles (Ray), Susan Holton, Charron Stokes (Gene), John Karst (Michelle), Thomas Karst (Jesse) and Gene Waites (Eva). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home (7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Callahan Methodist Church (449648 US-301, Callahan, FL 32011). A committal service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218).
